Generation 3 is a global initiative to build on the partnership’s achievements to date, leveraging cutting-edge technologies to deliver real-world impact and inspire the next generation.

Aramco and Aston Martin F1 Team joined forces in 2022 and, since then, Jessica Hawkins became the first female to drive a modern ground-effect car; STEM activations inspired students in Riyadh, Shanghai, and Oviedo; a university undergraduate placement programme was launched to support careers in STEM and motorsport; and the winner of the Aramco Esports Challenge joined Aston Martin Aramco Esports Team.

Khalid Al Zamil, Vice President of Public Affairs, Aramco, said: "Since joining forces in 2022, our dynamic partnership with Aston Martin Aramco Formula 1 Team has harnessed a shared commitment to engineering excellence and innovation, with the potential to deliver winning results both on and off the track”.

“Generation 3 takes our partnership to the next level.”

The power to help shape tomorrow starts today

With a shared belief that solving some of the biggest technological and engineering challenges of today can be achieved through collaboration and engineering excellence, Aramco and Aston Martin F1 Team’s Generation 3 will aim to drive progress in global mobility through technical advancements on-track.

The new era of this partnership also strives to prepare and inspire the next generation of STEM leaders to tackle these challenges for years to come.
Generation 3 comprises three pillars to find innovative solutions that push on track performance - and deliver social impact off the track:
  • Social value: inspiring the next generation through STEM education and opportunities. This will include the launch of a new Generation 3 STEM scholarship programme in 2025, and will build on current STEM karting initiatives delivered by Aston Martin Aramco drivers and engineers.

  • Technological innovation: focused on the materials and fuel innovations borne out of the partnership. This will come to life on-track with Aramco due to deliver advanced fuels to Aston Martin Aramco F1 Team under the new FIA regulations in 2026.

  • Technology transfer: leveraging F1 innovation to drive real-world applications, with a focus on driving tangible impact across the transportation sector and beyond.
To celebrate Generation 3’s launch, Aston Martin Aramco F1 Team development driver Jak Crawford will perform a demonstration run in Houston, in his home state of Texas, on October 15.

Crawford will drive an AMR22 F1 car decked in a special Generation 3 livery, created exclusively for the launch.
Houston is home to one of Aramco’s largest upstream research and development centres and Aramco Americas' headquarters, which celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2024. The demo run will take place at five different locations across the city, concluding with the car on display at an ESG-led event with local STEM students in the ION district.

Additional Generation 3 branding will be run on the AMR24, driver suits, and garage at the 2024 United States Grand Prix at Circuit of The Americas.

Mike Krack, team principal of Aston Martin Aramco Formula 1 Team, said: “As a team we have always been proud to use our platform for good, both on and off the track. This initiative provides the opportunity for us to build on our achievements to date and take the next step forward in our journey with Aramco as our title partner”.

“The collaboration will see us continue to inspire the next generation through STEM education and opportunities, while leveraging technological innovation as we look ahead to the new FIA regulations in 2026.”

“I’m excited to see the initiative unfold as we push the boundaries of what is possible together.”
