Max Verstappen celebrates his 2025 Japanese Grand Prix victory

Red Bull's Max Verstappen took victory in the 2025 Japanese Grand Prix at Suzuka as he held off the McLarens of Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri. Scroll down to view our pick of images from the third round of the 2025 Formula 1 season.

The reigning champion started on pole position and went on to take his fourth consecutive Japanese Grand Prix win amid drama during the pitstop phase.

The Red Bull driver endured a slow pitstop and ended up exiting the pitlane side-by-side with Norris, who went onto the grass at the pit exit while conceding position to Verstappen.

Both drivers argued their side over team radio and the stewards chose not to investigate the incident. Verstappen then went on to build a lead over Norris.

Piastri closed in on Norris late in the race and both McLarens then began to cut into Verstappen's lead, but he held on by 1.4 seconds over Norris with Piastri another seven tenths of a second behind.

The Japanese Grand Prix race start, Red Bull's Max Verstappen keeps the lead heading into Turn 1.
